Naturally, because I market From Unemployed To Self-Employed on the internet, I spend a fair amount of time watching how other people market and the various methods they use. Although I’m not in direct competition with them, I consider this part of my never-ending learning curve.
Last August, I posted an article entitled, Get rich quick. [...]

I think that when most people hear “start a business” or “become self-employed” they get the same twinge in their belly that they do when they get a Certified letter from the IRS.
I have some thoughts about why this is.
For starters, I believe that some people just don’t like to venture beyond their comfort zone. [...]
Can anyone be a business owner?

YES! Not only do I believe that everyone can be a business owner… an entrepreneur. But I also believe that everyone already is.

Networking at chamber events is fun. I get to meet new people, share ideas, exchange business cards, and learn what’s new in the world.
“What do you do?” was the question that came at me at just such an event yesterday from a middle-aged gentleman in a gray pinstripe suit.
I handed him my business card and [...]

Not only do I get a great meal when my wife and I visit Hunan Balcony on Johnson Avenue in Riverdale, New York. But I also get great advice.
My fortune cookie last night read:
Better to do something imperfectly
than to do nothing perfectly.
It doesn’t matter what your endeavor. Nothing is ever or will be perfect. [...]

Like you, I see opportunities daily that claim to help someone make thousands of dollars a week or month in a business of their own. Many, of course, have to do with Internet businesses.
The one thing that these all have in common is that they boast tremendous financial rewards.
I clicked through to an offering this [...]
Success is its own motivator

Success is a powerful motivator in and of itself.
Once you taste success, you gain euphoria, excitement, pride, and confidence. In turn, that helps to motivate you for the next challenge… and the next… and the next.
Accumulating small successes adds up.
One (1) small success may not seem an impressive result. But when you add [...]

My first full-time job after college was with a Cleveland division of a major national corporation (no longer in business) headquartered in Akron, Ohio.
I don’t think it took me more than three or four months on the job to realize that corporate life was not all that it was cracked up to be. After all, [...]
Failure is always a step closer to success

Some people seem to get it right the first time. Others need more time. It really doesn’t matter. In the end, a winner is a winner. But lets look at this thing called “failure.”
I thought about this for a long time… and then arrived at this simple conclusion. The reason you shouldn’t be afraid to [...]
