Resources

Throughout the From Unemployed To Self-Employed program and lessons, I address every issue you need to start a business properly. That includes introducing you to quality people and service providers who can help you accomplish everything you need… precisely when you need it.

Some people, however, come to me after their business is already underway.

If this describes you, I encourage you to sign up now for the lessons. While you may be beyond the subject matter for the first several lessons, I assure you, the review won’t hurt. But if you just can’t wait until I get to information you may need urgently need now, I wanted to alert you to these 2 helpful resources.

Building a client/customer/prospect/friend list. If I were starting a business today, here’s what I’d do first. I’d start building a list of everyone I came in contact with: prospects, friends, neighbors, etc. And then, as I started adding clients and customers, I’d add them, too. Next, because I’m in a start-up mode and watching expenses, I’d look for an effective but inexpensive way to reach them with my sales message. That means email. There is not a better resource for managing an email program than Constant Contact. I’ve used them for years. They provide outstanding support. Templates help you build great looking emails quickly. Their list management system is effortless to use. Click here to find out what Constant Contact can do for you and to obtain a 60-day free trial.

Outsourcing. Spending time learning new skills can steal precious time away from critical startup activities that only you can do. Relying on friends or relatives for help may or may not be your answer. Hiring someone too soon can lead to a less than satisfactory result and unnecessary overhead. I address outsourcing thoroughly in the From Unemployed To Self-Employed lessons. However, if you’re already up and running – and perhaps off to a slow start because you need quality, specialized support you can trust but don’t know where to turn – I strongly recommend an organization called 123Employee. They can provide just about any business support function you need and do it extremely cost-effectively. Click here to find out all that 123Employee can do for you.
